SYDNEY, Feb 9 AAP - A man has been struck over the head with a firearm during an armed
robbery in Sydney's north.

Two men in balaclavas entered a bottle shop on Denman Parade, Normanhurst after 6pm
(AEDT) on Tuesday, confronting two male staff members in their early 20s.

One of the robbers was armed with a rifle.

One employee was forced to the ground and the other was ordered to empty the contents
of the till and cigarettes into a bag.

He was then struck in the back of the head with the firearm, causing a laceration,
