Moorefield, known for its football prowess at the varsity level,showed some baseball wares on the Watt Powell Park diamond this week.

Completing a remarkable postseason run, the Yellowjackets poundedout 17 hits, which included nine in the third inning, and reboundedfrom a sixth inning Wheeling Central rally to win the school's firstClass A state championship, 10-7 Friday afternoon.
