QLD: Shopkeeper and huge cigarette stock disappears

BRISBANE, Aug 17 AAP - Police investigating the disappearance of a Brisbane shopkeeper and
$750,000 worth of cigarettes haven't ruled out foul play.

Son Thanh Nguyen, 40, was last seen in his shop at the Capalaba Central Shopping Centre in
Brisbane's south east a week ago.

Acting Detective Senior Sergeant Tony Vlismas said: "Son Nguyen may be the victim of an
organised gang."

He said all possibilities were being examined and police were anxious to contact the
missing man.

Snr Sgt Vlismas warned shopkeepers to be wary of anyone offering wholesale, cut-priced
cigarettes.

"Receiving stolen property is a serious offence and my advice would be to call police
immediately," he said.
