FED: Police search Sydney train for suspect package = 2
New South Wales police also confirmed a package found at Darlinghurst Post Office in inner
Sydney today was similar to 26 other potentially lethal parcel bombs found this week.
The Crown Street building was evacuated just after 9am (AEDT) when staff discovered a
suspicious package, a police spokesman said.
The package was detonated by the police bomb disposal and rescue squad inside the post
office late this morning.
"The remains of the controlled detonation will be taken away for forensic examination," the
spokesman said.
Similar packages have been found at addresses in Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne and the Gold
Coast since Monday.
Police have named Colin George Dunstan, 43, a suspended tax officer, as the prime suspect
and launched a nationwide hunt for him.
They say Mr Dunstan, who was once involved in a bitter workplace sexual harassment case,
could be dangerous and suicidal.
Meanwhile, police said they had given the all clear at the Australian Taxation Office in
Penrith, which was evacuated at 8.45am (AEDT) today after a suspicious package was discovered.
"As we understand it, nothing was found and everything has been concluded out there," the
police spokesman said.
