This weekend a group of six sailors from Ocean View, Masiphumelele and Red Hill will be navigating the high seas in Naples, Italy as part of Team Shosholoza to showcase their sailing skills in a series of exhibition races.

The regatta is the 24th edition of the Velalonga, "a fantastic nautical festival that attracts thousands of spectators", said team managing director Captain Salvatore Sarno.

The Izivunguvungu MSC Foundation for youth trained most of the members of Team Shosholoza.

Taking part are Marlin Jones, Asinathi Jim, Ashwin Daniels, Denzio Davids, Daphne Jacobs, Sinethemba Ndzakayi and coach Kader Williams. …
